Fishing Charters Near Inlet Beach, FL

Inlet Beach sits at the east end of 30A, right next door to Panama City Beach. That makes it the closest 30A beach to the charter docks.

Scenic 30A

Fishing around Inlet Beach

Inlet Beach is the first community you reach on Scenic Highway 30A when you head west from Panama City Beach. It borders Camp Helen State Park and Lake Powell, one of the largest coastal dune lakes in Florida, which connects to the Gulf through Phillips Inlet.

The beaches here are wide and quiet, and surf fishing for pompano and whiting is popular in spring and fall. For deep sea, shark or red snapper trips, though, you'll book a charter out of Panama City Beach.

Getting to the charter docks

From Inlet Beach, the charter marinas on Grand Lagoon in Panama City Beach are usually about a 20 to 30 minute drive east along Back Beach Road (US 98), more in summer traffic. Plan to leave early for morning trips.

What to look for in a charter

Licensed, experienced captains

We look for charters run by U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains with years of local experience, backed by mates who know how to help first-timers.

Clear trips and pricing

You should know the trip length, what's included, what you can keep and what happens if weather cancels, before you step on the boat.

They know these waters

The best captains know the reefs, wrecks and seasons off Panama City Beach, and they move until they find fish.

Safe, well-kept boats

Clean boats, good gear and safety equipment on board, with a captain who won't take you out when the Gulf isn't safe.
